MLA Spending: Is it Fair?

Last week many MLA's in Nova Scotia were called out for excessive personal spending with public money by the Auditor General of the Province. The report released Wednesday outlined the spending of many MLA's but not all those with questionable purchases were named. Some of the expenses outlined were office related - laptops and furniture - but others were of a more personal nature. The more personal items include several big screen TV's, expresso makers, and several generators installed in personal homes.

ELECTIONS

The recently rescheduled SMUSA elections are back up and running. Expect to see posters around campus and enjoy a break from class with many classroom talks from candidates in the next few days. There are currently four seats available for the Board of Directors and six candidates vying for a seat. The coveted seat of SMUSA President for 2010-2011 has only two candidates running.
