In the past year there have been fifteen reported incidents of the night watcher, a man in his early 20’s who is entering the homes or apartments of University students, particularly females, in the South End and watching them sleep. The assailant usually flees when his victims wake up. So far he has not harmed any of the women and has not been apprehended by Halifax Regional Police.

On September 23rd students of the Faculty of Arts were honoured for their High Academic Achievement during the 2008-2009 year. The late afternoon ceremony was attended by Professors from the Faculty of Arts including Dr. Anthony O’Malley the IDS co-ordinator as well as several professors from the French and Religious Studies departments.
